Machteld Boot Legal staff officer
Legal staff officer at the Bureau of the National Rapporteur on Human Trafficking, as from April 2007.
Machteld previously held a position at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies of Leiden University. She has also worked at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’, and the Netherlands Red Cross. She has published, inter alia, on war crimes trials, and legal aspects of (inter)national security issues. In addition, she developed various training modules and took part in several editorial boards.
Machteld studied Dutch law at Utrecht University, and in 2002 succesfully defended her dissertation at Tilburg University on the legality principle and the subject matter jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.
